The public learned of the attempt to restart a Unitarian church in Norfolk by the following announcement in the _Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch_ of Saturday, December 14, 1929. It tried to attract open-minded and even skeptical people from within the Christian tradition, which was dominant in Norfolk. Note that there was no mention of Unitarianism or the intention to start a church. But from inquisitive and free-thinking people could come a congregation that could connect with the Unitarian tradition. Here is the announcement in its entirety:
