Located at 739 Yarmouth Street on the Hague in the Ghent District of Norfolk, UCN is in a picturesque location across the street from The Chrysler Museum. Learn about the accessibility of our building and our programs.
The congregation’s office is open from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Contact our office.
During the week, enter the building from the parking lot entrance located behind the building in this view. This entrance is wheel chair accessible and may be opened from the office. On Sunday, we use both the parking lot entrance and the Narthex entrance at the base of the tower.
During the week our on-site lot provides parking for the staff and visitors but can be affected by tidal and storm surge flooding. Where we park gives additional guidance for Sunday parking and tidal flooding.
Our Google Maps link offers you door-to-door directions for driving, walking, biking, or public transit. Google Maps is aware of the HRT schedule, congestion, construction, and current travel times.
The HRT buses and the Tide provide service. Good bus/bicycle combinations are also possible with HRT. In spring and summer some of our Portsmouth congregants have taken the ferry across the river biking to and from the ferry stations.
Farm Fresh and other retailers sell five packs of five day passes for $15. A pass allows unlimited trips on the Tide and buses for the day on which one is activated.
Unitarian Church of Norfolk is a 5 minute walk from the Brambleton Tide stop. Walk west toward Yarmouth Street. Follow Yarmouth Street to the north-east to the church.
Note: The Tide light rail does not run Sunday morning, but is useful for evening meetings and returning from meetings on Sunday. On Sundays check gohrt.com for latest schedule.
